Job Purpose

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join EXITLAG's engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our products across desktop clients, backend services, and network infrastructure. This role combines manual and automated testing to ship high-quality software that serves millions of gamers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for backend services (Rust, Node.js) and client applications
• Create and execute manual test plans for new features, regressions, and edge cases
• Collaborate with developers to define acceptance criteria and testability requirements before implementation begins
• Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines to catch regressions early
• Conduct performance and load testing on critical services (connection routing, tunnel management, analytics ingestion)
• Investigate, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps using Linear and Jira
• Participate in sprint reviews and planning, providing quality-focused input on estimates and risk
• Monitor production metrics and alerts to identify quality issues proactively
• Champion testing best practices and help the team shift quality left

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Experience with HTTP-based client-server communications and API testing tools (Postman, REST Client, or programmatic approaches)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (BitBucket Pipelines, Azure Devops)
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Experience with bug tracking and project management tools (Linear, Jira)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience testing desktop applications (Qt/QML) using Squish automation tool

Nice to Have

• Experience with network protocols (TCP/UDP, tunneling, VPN technologies)
• Familiarity with Rust or C++ codebases
• Experience with protocol buffer (protobuf) based services
• Background in gaming or latency-sensitive applications
